Japanese style blossoming tree circles will brighten up Britain’s ‘greyest’ cities under plans by ministers and the National Trust – including Newcastle.  The charity has consulted residents to choose the British trees with the best blossom, settling on cherry, plum, hawthorn and crab apple.  The plans have Government support and MPs will each be given a blossom tree bythe National Trust to plant in their constituencies.
